Working as a wedding photographer for six years, Lisa Roy Sachs had an unparalleled view of the American wedding industry. With overly-abundant food, exquisite gowns and regal surroundings, the industry attempts to create for the bride and groom a world-for-a-day that imitates an imagined life of royalty. 

This series of photographs – still being edited – undoes the work of fantasy creation and reveals the wedding day as one of tension and trepidation.  Roy Sachs worked with both film and digital cameras, in both black & white and color.
